"American folk rock band. Formed by three members: Stephen Stills (formerly of Buffalo Springfield), David Crosby (formerly of the Byrds), and Graham Nash (formerly of the Hollies). The abbreviation is CS&N. In 1969, they released their debut album, Crosby, Stills & Nash. They gained popularity with their acoustic-based sound and exquisite chorus work that made the most of the three members' individuality. They later welcomed Neil Young as guitarist and became active under the name Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSN&Y). CD Journal commentary
